I’ve followed all of the above steps to cancel my subscription. They are all denied by customer care. They refuse to allow you out of your subscription regardless of what you try, and worse still majority of their claimed 750,000 users are stuck on the site for this reason, not because they want to “find love”.
It is the law that if one has automatic renewal one must be able to cancel online . In terns of stopping it early the only possibility is to put it into investigational dispute with your credit card company. You can also try blocking them with your card. It is true that people are ‘stuck ‘ on the site -and that is why they stay till the term is done. You cannot pick your own matches so there is nothing to do but wait it out even though they have no one for you. In that sense, it is not an ethical company .
Hi I signed up to Eharmony in a moment of weakness , a 23 month subscription. 24 hours later I sent them an email cancelling the subscription based on mental health grounds. I looked at the terms and conditions and it said you can cxxl at any time. They refuse to cancel my subscription and say I have to pay the 23 month subscription fee. I’m in Australia we have Consumer Laws re contracts of a 14 day cooling off period. What are my options do I have to pay the full fee I have blocked via my bank the auto renewal . Remember these things about online subscriptions:
1. Cancellation almost always just means “stop auto renewals”.
Not “Stop charging me money”
2. You are signing up to pay the whole amount regardless of what schedule the payments are
on and/or your desire to cancel 72 hours in.

Whether or not the company tries to send your balance to a collection agency is a coin toss however the last few agencies Eharmony specifically had a partnership with had stopped reporting their claims to the credit bureaus.
