The advantage of a primary console is that it can play downloaded games normally regardless of whether it is connected to the PS Network account or is using a separate account. Similar to an extension of the primary console is the secondary console. As long as the other PS4 is already set as the main console, you may label the secondary PS4 as the second console when you log in using the same credentials. The distinction is that the additional console must always be linked to the account. The secondary console can perform the same downloadable games that the PS Network account holder bought. That implies that you must also be online to use that account to play the games. The disadvantage is that the secondary console will be unlogged once the primary console is logged into the same account.

However, you may use numerous separate PlayStation Network accounts under a single PlayStation machine, such as a PS4, even if you own only one. Swapping between accounts anytime is all that is required. In that sense, you can have many PlayStation Network accounts. So, keep reading further to find the steps explaining the same in detail with useful illustrations for better understanding.

How Do You Transfer Your PS4 Account to Another PS4?

A newer PS4 system can receive previously saved data on your existing PS4 storage system. Your new PS4 system has to have data transferred to it to be initialized, so do that before you start using it. Your current PS4 system will continue to save data after the transfer. These kinds of data are transferable: Everyone’s settings and Users. Ensure to consider the cautions before you transfer your PS4 account to another PS4:

  • All data stored on your new PS4 machine is destroyed during the transfer. Before beginning this process, the data must be backed up to a USB storage drive, and your trophies must be synced with PlayStation Network servers beforehand. This operation cannot be undone.
  • While transferring the data, do not switch off any PS4 system. Your system might be damaged by doing this.
  • These particular categories of data cannot be moved: Installed in expanded storage is trophy data that isn’t synchronized with PlayStation Network Applications.
  • The family administrator must add deleted family members after the move.
  • Only a PlayStation4 Pro console may be used to view high-resolution photos and videos taken with it.

Here’s how to transfer your PS4 account to another PS4:

Option I: Through Wireless Network (Wi-Fi)

On your existing PS4 system, you must carry out the following steps before transferring data:

  • Log in to PlayStation Network.
  • The program code should be updated to the most recent version.

Follow these steps to transfer your PS4 account to another PS4 through Wi-Fi:

1. Connect your old and new PS4 systems to the same network.

2. Sign in to PlayStation Network on your new PS4 device.

Note: A screen displays to walk you through the update procedure if an update file with the most recent system software is available. To carry out the update, adhere to the on-screen directions.

3. Use a LAN cable to connect your old PS4 to your new PS4.

4. On your brand-new PS4 system, go to Settings.

Select Settings from the main menu PS4

5. Then, select System.

select System

6. Proceed to hit the Transfer Data from another PS4 option.

1 thought on “Can You Login to Your PS4 Account on Another PS4?”

  1. Hello Pete,
I have an existing PS4 which other family members use, so they have their own accounts on the PS4 welcome screen. None of them had PSN accounts when their PS4 accounts were created, and we didn’t create any PSN accounts for them. Recently, we purchased as PS5, and created PSN accounts for the family members as part of setting them up on the PS5.

I’m in the process of trying to copy saved game data from the PS4 onto a USB hard drive, which I’ll then use to copy the saved data onto the PS5 (the PS4 and PS5 are in different locations, and do not have shared network access between them). The challenge I’m facing is how to add the new PSN accounts to the existing PS4 accounts. The PS4 gives me the option of signing in to the PSN, but ONLY if I create new PSN accounts; I haven’t been able to find a way to sign in to the (now) existing PSN accounts on the PS4. Each option to access PSN results in the “Create new PSN account” rather than just signing in.

Any thoughts on this? It’s a very puzzling situation, and I have yet to find a solution.

    Thanks!
