How to Add Experience in LinkedIn within the Same Company?

You can group consecutive positions you have held in the same company. By grouping the multiple positions in a single company, your profile will be less cluttered.

If one position’s termination date and another’s start date are more than one month apart, you can only group the positions within the same company. Additionally, if you hold two positions at the same company simultaneously, LinkedIn will group them.

For example, if your current role ends in June, and the new role begins in July, LinkedIn will automatically combine them. However, if two or more months passed between the beginning of the previous position and the new one, LinkedIn will register the two roles separately.

Method 1: Group Different Experiences

The steps for adding positions as a group are as follows:

1. Launch the LinkedIn app and navigate to your profile menu.

2. Tap the + icon from the Experience section.

Tap the Plus icon beside Experience column after scrolling there. Then, choose Add position.

3. Select Add position.

Select Add position.

4. Search and add the job title and the company name to add the experience on LinkedIn.

Type the company's name into the space provided, then choose it from the drop-down option.

5. Deselect the checkbox for the I am currently working in this role option if this is the position you previously held.

6. Select the start and end dates.

Select your start and end dates

7. For the position, add the description and skills.

8. Then, select the media files, if any, and tap on Save.

Note: Repeat the procedure for the next two roles, making sure that there is a one-month gap between the beginning and ending dates of each.

9. Mark the checkbox for the I am currently working in this role option if you are working for the position in the company.

So, when all the roles have been filled, LinkedIn will list the company’s name along with its logo once for each position you’ve held, starting with the most recent.

Method 2: Add Distinct Experiences Separately

If there is a longer gap between roles for more than one month, adding numerous positions at the same company independently becomes an option. The way to do it is as follows:

1. Head to the Experience section in your LinkedIn profile.

2. To add your first position with the company, tap on the + icon and choose Add position.

click on Add and choose Add position

3. Fill in the position details and tap on Save.

4. Repeat the process for the other roles.

Note: You don’t have to worry about the dates being one month apart this time.

5. Return to the Experience section on your profile to see each position you’ve listed with the name and logo of the company visible.

For each position you've listed, the name and logo of the company will be visible.

How to Add Experience on LinkedIn Without Notification?
