3. Search and select the Zoom tasks that are running in the background and select End Task

1. Hit the Windows key and type Control Panel and Open.
2. Set the View by option to Large icons and click on Internet Options.
3. Select the Security tab and click on the Trusted sites symbol followed by Sites and click Ok.
4. In the next window, you can add https://zoom.us/ and other zoom pages in the Add this website to the zone: field by using the Add option.

5. Close the Trusted sites window and click on Apply and OK in the Internet Properties window to save the changes.
Method 4: Disable VPN
Although VPN is preferred for privacy purposes, it may slow down the internet speed more often. If you are connected to a slow VPN server, your connection will be very slow and you might face Zoom error 1001 and 5003.
1. Exit from Zoom and make sure you close all the Zoom programs from Task Manager.
2. Press the Windows button and search Proxy and Open

- Use setup script
- Use a proxy server

Method 5: Update Zoom

1. Launch Zoom and click on the Profile.
2. Select the Check for Updates option.
3. Make sure you receive the prompt, You are up to date. If any updates are pending in action, follow the on-screen instructions to update it.

Method 6: Disable Antivirus (Temporarily)

For a safer side, add Zoom as an exclusion in the antivirus program or disable antivirus temporarily if it is an extreme case.
Option I: Whitelist Zoom in Antivirus
1. Go to the search menu, type Avast and click on the Menu option at the top right corner as shown.
Note: You can search the antivirus that you are using in my case it is avast.
2. Click on Settings.
3. In the General tab, switch to the Blocked & Allowed apps tab and click on ALLOW APP under the List of allowed apps field.
4. Click on ADD option corresponding to Zoom to add the application to the whitelist.
Note: You may also browse for the app path by selecting the SELECT APP PATH option.
4. Finally, click on ADD to confirm the prompt, and now, you have added your application or program in Avast Whitelist.
5. If you want to remove the application/program from the Avast whitelist, then click on the three-dotted icon in the main Settings window. You will see two options over here.
- Change allowed features – This option will let you change the features which you have enabled while whitelisting the program.
- Remove – This option will remove the program from the Avast whitelist.
6. Reboot your PC and check if you face the error again. Still, if you did not attain any fix disable the program from your PC as instructed below.
Option II: Disable Antivirus
1. Navigate to the Antivirus icon in the Taskbar and right-click on it.
2. Now, select the Avast shields control option, and you can temporarily disable Avast using the below options:
- Disable for 10 minutes
- Disable for 1 hour
- Disable until computer is restarted
- Disable permanently
3. Choose the option according to your convenience and confirm the prompt displayed on the screen.
4. Now, go back to the main window. Here, you have turned off all shields from Avast. To activate the settings, click on TURN ON.

Method 7: Whitelist Zoom in Firewall
Similarly, Windows Defender Firewall might block the application, leading to error code 5003. Here are a few steps to whitelist Zoom in Windows Defender Firewall.
1. Press the Windows key and type Windows Defender Firewall and Open.
2. In the pop-up window, click on Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.
3. Click Change settings. Finally, check for Zoom to allow through the Firewall.
You can use Allow another app… to browse your Program if Zoom does not exist in the list.

Method 8: Reset Network Adapter Settings

1. Press the Windows key, type cmd or command prompt and open it as Run as administrator.

ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset
3. Wait for the commands to be executed and reboot your PC once completed.

Method 9: Update or Reinstall Network Drivers
Outdated or incompatible network drivers in your PC will more often lead to Zoom error code 1132 or 5003. Try updating them to the latest version or reinstalling them if necessary.
Option I: Update Drivers
1. Type Device Manager in the Windows search bar and Open.
2. Click the Network adapters on the main panel and double click.
3. Right-click on your driver (e.g Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168) and click Update driver.
4. Click on Browse my computer for drivers to locate and install a driver manually.
5. Click on the Browse… button to choose any directory and then click on Next
5A. Now, the drivers will be updated to the latest version if they are not updated.
5B. If they are already in an updated stage, the screen displays the following message, The best drivers for your device are already installed.
6. Click on Close to exit the window.
Option II: Reinstall Drivers
1. Launch the Device Manager and expand Network adapters by double-clicking on it as mentioned in Method 11A.
2. Right-click on the driver and select Uninstall device.
3. A warning prompt will be displayed on the screen. Check the box “Delete the driver software for this device” and confirm the prompt by clicking Uninstall.
4. Visit the manufacturer’s website (e.g. Intel) to download the driver manually.
5. Once downloaded, double-click on the downloaded file and follow the given instructions to install it.
Method 10: Change DNS Addresses
Several users have reported that Zoom error code 5003 will be fixed by changing the DNS address provided by your Internet Service Provider. You may use Google DNS address to tackle the issue and here are a few instructions to change the DNS address of your PC.
1. Launch the Run dialog box by pressing Windows + R keys together.
2. Type ncpa.cpl and hit Enter key.
3. Right-click on your active Network adapter and click on Properties.
4. The Wi-Fi Properties window will pop up. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
Note: You can also double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) to open the Properties window.
5. Select Use the following DNS server addresses option. Then, enter the below-mentioned values in the field of Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server respectively.

Method 11: Reset LAN Settings
Several network connectivity issues may lead to Zoom unable to connect error, and you can fix them by resetting local network settings as discussed below.
1. Open Control Panel by typing it in the Windows search bar.
2. Set the View by option to Category and select the Network and Internet.
3. Click on Internet Options.
4. Now, in the Internet Properties window, switch to the Connections tab and select LAN settings.
5. Check the box Automatically detect settings and ensure Use a proxy server for your LAN box is unchecked (unless you need it) and click OK to save the changes.

Method 12: Reinstall Zoom

2. Now, select the Programs and Features option as highlighted.
