What Happens When You Tag Yourself in a Facebook Post?

Tagging yourself in a post creates a link between your Facebook profile and the post. This means that the post will show up on your timeline, and your friends and followers will be able to see that you’ve been tagged in it. Moreover, if the post is set to public, it may be visible to a broader audience beyond your immediate circle of friends.

  1. Hi, the Facebook tag feature is not working all the time from just one particular friend. He’ll tag me in three posts and only 2 will appear for me to approve on my timeline. On his page it shows I am tagged, on mine it doesn’t even show in my activity log that he tagged me. I’ve tried untagging myself on his page and then retagging myself but it doesn’t allow me to do that, I’ve tried the @name in his comments section and it still doesn’t appear on my timeline and now he cannot retag me either to try to fix the issue! This issue has happened several times in the last few weeks. Any ideas why this would happen and how to fix it? I’ve logged out and back in, I’ve temporarily removed the option to approve tags before they appear on my timeline. Thanks
