I have a solution, go to settings and select “Google”, select “Personal Safety”, and turn off “Silence notification while driving”
this should be a top bug to fix.
My 90 year old uncle was unreachable for 3 days. I had to get a local friend of his to go check on him and we found for about the 10th time his phone was in do not disturb mode.
This 90 year old guy lives alone and I check on him regularly.
THis ANDROID BUG is a POTENTIAL LIFE KILLER.

Was going crazy when people were telling me I didn’t answer the phone. Kept turning end off but it kept coming back on!!!!
In Settings>Sound and Vibration>Do Not Disturb>Schedules I found a mysterious option “Over ride dead silence” which was enabled. I’ve turned off that option and now, hopefully, it will stop randomly turning on Do Not Disturb.
What is this? Who thought it would be a sensible default behaviour? Why???? It makes no sense.
This was a helpful read. My phone randomly would go to DND and it was driving me nuts. After reading this, I went into ny settings and it was marked to turn on during “sleeping” and “events” which I never selected and are now unselected. Hopefully this fixes the problem for good!
