How to Undo or Un-Report Accidentally Reported Junk iMessage
Currently, Apple does not offer the option to un-report Junk iMessages.
What to Do When I Accidentally Report a Text as Junk?
You cannot do much after you have accidentally reported a text as junk. Once you tap on the Report as Junk while deleting a junk message, the message thread is deleted from your inbox and you will not be receiving a message from that number anymore. Secondly, the number will sent out to Apple and also your cellular carrier. But if you’re worried whether accidentally reporting a text as junk might make your friend lose their account, then relax. A single junk report probably won’t cause Apple to act against an account.
What Happens When You Report Junk on iMessage? What Does Apple Do with Reported Junk?
When you use an iPhone to accidentally report a text as a junk message, the sender details are sent out to the carrier and Apple. This will help them to recognize any potential spam numbers, and if there is more report against them, the carrier can even blacklist them from sending unwanted messages. However, if you use an iPad or Mac to report the junk message, the sender details are only sent to Apple as there is no cellular network that can be accessed on those devices.
Apple keeps a record of the number and ensures that you do not receive any messages from such a number in the future. If at all you receive the messages, they are directly received in the junk messages folder. The sender might still be able to send you text messages in case they have changed their numbers. This would have answered your query, what happens when you report junk on iMessage.
