How to Stop Spotify from Opening on Startup on Android Phone

You might have heard of Startup programs on Windows. However, you know even on Android, you can put apps on Auto-start, which means whenever the phone boots up, they would automatically launch. While this feature might be helpful for some, it might be not very pleasant for others. Well, we don’t know who would want Spotify to start with a bang just when the phone turns on. Let’s stop it from doing so.  

Note: Smartphones don’t have the same Settings options, and they vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Hence, ensure the correct settings before changing any on your device. These steps were performed on Oppo A57, as shown in the illustrations below.

1. Head over to Settings on the device and select Apps.

2. Tap on Auto launch.

3. Scroll down and locate Spotify in the list.

4. Toggle off the switch next to it to disable it.

Restrict Background Usage for Spotify

You can also restrict Spotify from running in the background. This not only will prevent the app from automatically starting up but also would save the battery of the device.

1. Tap and hold the Spotify icon on the app drawer and tap the i button.

2. In the App info menu, tap on Battery.
