How to Share Facebook Posts on Instagram
Step 1: Link Your Facebook and Instagram Accounts
- Open Instagram, go to your profile page, and tap on the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner.
- Tap on Accounts Center, and then on Accounts.
- Tap on Add accounts and select Add Facebook account.
Note: You’ll see your Facebook account mentioned if you’re logged in or follow the on-screen instructions to add. - Tap on Continue.
- Tap on Yes, Finish adding.
Step 2: Share a Facebook Post on Instagram
- Open the Facebook app and tap the three horizontal lines at the top right corner.
- Tap on your username to open your profile and go to the post you want to share on Instagram.
- Tap on the three dots on the top right of the post.
- Tap on Share to Instagram and then on Continue.
- You can customize the post and tap on Share.
Note: Currently this feature is limited to sharing only single image posts from Facebook to Instagram. If you try to share a multi-image post, a video, or a story, you’ll receive a notification that the content is not supported for cross-posting.
How to Automate Facebook Post Share to Instagram
Accounts Center allows publishing posts across multiple platforms including Facebook and Instagram. In this way, you can post on one platform and it’ll be automatically posted on the other.
- Link your Facebook account to Instagram by following the steps mentioned above.
- Open the Facebook app.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner and then tap on Settings & Privacy.
- Tap on Settings, followed by Accounts Center.
- Tap on Sharing across profiles and choose your Facebook account in the Share from section.
- Choose your Instagram account in the Share to section.
- Turn the toggle on for Facebook posts.
Some other popular third-party tools for cross-posting include Hootsuite, Buffer, and Sprout Social. However, most of these platforms are paid ones so select the best according to your needs.
