Anytime you create a server on Discord, you will notice a crown icon next to your username. This indicates that you are the admin of the server. How to Remove a Crown on Discord
Whether you wish to transfer ownership to a friend or leave a server, giving away your crown status will rid you of many duties. Although Discord does not offer a direct solution to remove the crown icon, there is a neat workaround available. If you give an admin role to another member, your crown will automatically get removed. Let’s find out how you can do it.
Option 1: Via Desktop
Follow the steps mentioned below to remove a crown from Discord on your desktop.
1. Open Discord and select the server of your choice.
2. Click on your server from the top left corner and select Server Settings from the drop-down list.
3. Click on Roles from the left menu and then click on Create Role.
4. Add a name under ROLE NAME.
5. Scroll down and turn the toggle on for Display role members separately from online members.
6. Click on Save Changes.
7. Now, click on Permissions from the top ribbon.
8. Scroll down and turn the toggle on for Administrator.
9. Click on Save Changes followed by ESC.
10. Go back to the home page and click on your profile.
11. Click on your status and select Online from the drop-down menu.
12. Now, click on the profile of the targeted member and then on the plus icon under NO ROLE.
13. Select the Role you created from the drop-down menu.
14. Restart Discord. You will see that the crown icon is removed from your username.
Option 2: Via Mobile
If you using Discord from your phone, follow the steps shown below to remove the crown icon:
1. Open Discord and select the targeted server.
2. Select the member of your choice.
3. Tap on Manage and then on Transfer Ownership.
4. Tick on I acknowledge that by transferring of this server to (your selected member), it officially belongs to them.
5. Tap on Transfer.
6. Close Discord and open again to successfully remove the crown from your username.
If I Remove Crown Will I Enjoy Admin Privileges on Discord?
No, you will not be able to enjoy any admin or owner privileges like adding new bots, or removing or banning other members of the server, if you do not have the crown status in a server.
