Well, it is asking for selfies or videos to verify your account and keep you and other users safe on the platform.

What Verification is Required for Tinder?

Tinder asks its members for photo verification to verify their identity. The liveness check scans the face on the uploaded videos to determine whether the video was taken by a real, live person or was just altered or manipulated. It checks for the 3D face authentication that detects faces in the video selfies and their profile photos and extracts facial geometries using facial recognition technology to generate a unique number or template. These templates are later used to help check whether the person in the uploaded video matches the profile photos or not.

Users have nothing to worry about as these geometry templates are deleted within 24 hours. Meaning the video selfies are deleted and are not added to their profile, although it is important to note that Tinder does keep two screenshots from the provided video selfies for the purpose of managing and auditing the feature.

With new updates, the Tinder verification will be done by AI bots that will match pictures submitted by users to identify between real and fake profiles.

How does Tinder Verification Work?

How long does Tinder photo verification take?

After submitting the video selfie, the video will be under review which is why it might typically take a few hours. To get verified, it might take up to 24 hours. However, once the ID has been reviewed, Tinder will let its members know so that they can check their results.

What Happens if You Fail Tinder Verification?

If a user does not meet the requirements for verification, they will be notified upon login and will remain locked out of Tinder for the amount of time specified on the screen. The time and reason for verification rejection may vary from person to person.

A person can get rejected for verification if they don’t meet these requirements:
