  1. After trouble shooting my problem of low microphone output, I finally found the culprit. Tried updates to Realtek drivers, Windows driver etc. Nothing worked. Then someone mentioned the Audio Endput driver or the Generic Software Device driver. I did both and now it works. Looks as if a Microsoft update keeps bumping my headset microphone to a low volume.
