It can be a nightmare to lose your AirPods especially if you use an Android user and don’t have access to Apple’s Find My app. Don’t worry though as there are still a few things you can do to find those lost AirPods using your Android phone, whether they’re nearby or far away. Let’s begin.
How to Find Lost AirPods on Android
Method 1: Using Bluetooth Connectivity
With Bluetooth, one of the easiest ways to find lost AirPods on Android is to use them.
- Open Settings app.
- Tap on Bluetooth or Connections and turn on Bluetooth.
- Your device will start scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices.
- If your AirPods are close enough (usually 30 to 60 feet), they should show up in the list of devices you can use.
- Once your AirPods are shown, you can connect to them and play music loudly to help you find them.
Tip: You can play a tone generator app or a high-pitched sound. These are easier for your ears to pick up than regular music.

Method 2: Using Third-Party Apps
You can’t use Find My on Android phones like iPhones, but several third-party apps can help you find your lost AirPods. One of the popular apps is Wunderfind.
Here’s how you can use this app:
- Install the Wunderfind app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the app and grant the necessary permissions. It will look for close Bluetooth devices and your AirPods will be found.
- Once your AirPods are found, you’ll see a distance score that tells you how near or far away they are from your device.
Move around based on the proximity feedback until the distance number goes down. This means you’re getting closer to your AirPods.
In the pro version of Wunderfind, you can also use your AirPods to play a sound that will help you find them.
Method 3: Using iCloud (If Previously Connected)
If you previously linked your AirPods to an iCloud account on an iOS device, you could still use the iCloud website on an Android device to find them.
Note: This method will only work if your AirPods are still close to an Apple device and have been linked to an iCloud account before.
- Visit icloud.com on your web browser and tap on Sign In.
- Tap the Find My app button and choose your AirPods from the list of phones and tablets.
- The map will show you where your AirPods are roughly located if they are online and close to an Apple device.
- If your AirPods are close by, tap on Play Sound to help you find them.

How to Find Airpods Without Using Technology
If none of this works, then the last thing you can do is go back in your steps and look for your lost AirPods by hand. Here are some things that will help you with this:
- Look through that area very carefully, looking under furniture, couch pillows, and anywhere else they might have come off.
- If you lost them outside, try to remember the exact way you took them and look for them along that path.
- Look through any bags or pockets you had on you at the time.
- If you still can’t find them, you might want to report them missing to the police or a lost-and-found office in case someone finds them and gives them back to you.
Losing your AirPods can be a headache because of their small size. However, this guide’s tips will help you to find your lost AirPods even if you use an Android device.
