Option 1: On Desktop

Follow the steps mentioned below to download Facebook messages on your PC:

  1. Open Facebook and click on your profile picture at the top right corner.
  2. Click on Settings & Privacy and then on Settings.
  3. Click on Accounts Center followed by Your information and permissions.
  4. Click on Download your information and then on Download or transfer information.
  5. Click on Specific types of information.
  6. Select Messages and click on Next.
  7. Select Download to device and click on Next again.
  8. Click on Notify, enter your email address, and click on Save.
  9. Select the date range and other information.
  10. Click on Create files.

Note: Once downloaded; you’ll receive a notification in your mail.

Option 2: On Android

  1. Open the Facebook app and navigate to the Settings menu.
  2. Tap on Accounts Center.
  3. Tap on Your information and permissions, followed by Download your information.
  4. Now, tap on Download or transfer information.
  5. Tap on Specific types of information.
  6. Select Messages and tap on Next.
  7. Select Download to device and tap on Next.
  8. Tap on Notify and enter an email address.
  9. Go back, select the date range and other information, and tap on Create files.

Option 3: On iOS (iPhone and iPad)

You can follow the same steps to download Facebook messages on iOS as on Android.
