How to Download and Install Android Studio Emulator
Android Studio emulator simulates Android devices on a developer’s computer. Developers can create and configure multiple virtual devices. Doing so allows them to test and optimize the app across devices with different screen sizes, resolutions & orientations, and Android OS releases. It becomes extremely helpful when physical devices may not be readily available.
Follow the steps to download it:
1. Visit the official Android Studio download page and click on Download Android Studio Hedgehog.
2. Tick the checkbox next to I have read and agree with the above terms and conditions to continue.
3. Once downloaded, click on the executable file to run the installer.
4. Uncheck the box next to the Android Virtual Device option and click Next.
5. Choose the location to save the Android Studio installation files, click Next, and then on Install.
6. Once the installation is complete, click on Next and then Finish.
7. Select Do not import settings since this is the first time you’re installing Android Studio and click on OK.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions and in the Install Type page, choose Custom and click on Next.
9. Choose the components you would like to Install, click on Next, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If you have an Android device and want to run Android applications on it, uncheck the Android Virtual Device option.
10. Accept the License Agreement and click on Finish.
11. Now wait until all the files are downloaded. Once done, click on Finish.
12. In the Welcome to Android Studio page, click on More Actions and select Virtual Device Manager from the dropdown menu.
13. Click on the Plus icon at the top to create a virtual device.
