It allows users to define multiple proxy profiles and easily switch between them with just a few clicks. Primarily it is used for IP rotation, which is important to prevent you from getting blocked by websites. Presently, SwitchyOmega has over 1 million users on Chrome and there’s also an еxpеrimеntal version of Firefox with around 41,000 users.

Before we move further to set it up, remember that Switchy Omega is only an extension and does not offer proxies or VPNs to unblock websites unless connected to one.

Now follow the steps below:

1. Launch the official Proxy SwitchyOmega extension website on Google Chrome.

2. Click on Add to Chrome.

3. A pop-up will appear asking for confirmation. Click on Add extension.

4. Wait and once Chrome has added the extension, open it.

5. On the left sidebar, under PROFILES, click on + New profile.

6. Add in the Profile name, select Proxy Profile under the type, and click on Create.

7. Choose the Protocol and then enter the proxy IP in the Server text field and port under Port

8. Now, for user-based authentication, click on the lock icon at the right or proceed further for IP-based authentication.

9. Enter the username & password, and click on Save changes.

10. Click on Apply changes on the left sidebar to create and save the profile.

11. That’s it! Now open a new tab, click on the extension icon, and then on the SwitchyOmega extension.

12. Choose the configured proxy from the menu.

You can click on Direct to disable it.

Similarly, you can create multiple proxy profiles. All you need is to click on the Proxy SwitchyOmеga icon and choose the desired profile from the drop-down menu to switch between them.
