  1. I followed your steps, repeated a couple times, as well tried other people’s recommend fixes for this issue and have not been successful in resolving. I still have the unknown USB controller in device manager and the left side bank of USB slots of my Alienware m17x r3 still isn’t working. It will give power to items plugged into the slots, but will not receive information from them. I’m running windows 7 and have updated to current.
