To know who is calling or sending you a message without looking at your phone, this article is all you need to set a unique notification sound for each of your contacts.
Can I have Different Notification Sounds for Different Contacts?
Yes, you can set different notification sounds for every particular contact on your smartphone. Almost every messaging app allows you to set different notification sounds for different contacts and this can be done for ringtones too.
Note: Since smartphones don’t have the same Settings options, and they vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, ensure the correct settings before changing any. The steps were performed on the Realme Narzo 10 phone on Google Messages app.
1. Open the Messages app on your Android device.
2. Tap on the Start chat situated at the bottom right corner of the screen.
3. Select and tap on the contact whose notification sound you want to change.
4. Tap on the three vertical dot icon at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on the Details option.
5. Tap on the Notifications option.
6. From Notification settings, tap on the Ringtone option.
7. Select the message tone of your choice and tap on it to set it as a message tone for that contact.

A good article, pity they keep changing the screens. I also need to create first to get all the first response numbers in the one place to apply the different “Alarm” tone.
The most difficult bit was to allow the notifications, from anyone in the group to get past “Bedtime” mode. Another 2 hours of my life I will never get back.
