Have you ever found yourself wanting to replay a YouTube video over and over again on your Android phone or tablet? Maybe it’s your favorite song, an instructional tutorial you’re trying to learn from or just a funny clip you can’t get enough of. Whatever the reason, to loop a YouTube video on Android is actually quite simple once you know how.
How to Loop a YouTube Video on Android Device
Sometimes you just like a YT video so much that you wish to see it on repeat, but don’t know how to. In this blog post, we’ll walk through the step-by-step process to put any YouTube video on repeat using an Android device.
Method 1: Using the YouTube Mobile App
The easiest way to loop a video is directly through the official YouTube app on your Android phone or tablet. Here’s how:
- Open the YouTube app and find the video you want to loop.
- Tap on the video to start playing it.
- While the video is playing, tap the screen to reveal the video controls and options.
- Click on the Settings option at the top.
- From the pop-up menu, select the Loop video option.
The video will now automatically replay from the beginning after reaching the end. The loop will continue indefinitely until you go back into the menu and uncheck Loop video option or navigate away from that video.
Note: Loop video option will be grayed out and unavailable if an ad is currently playing before your selected video. You’ll need to wait for the ad to finish before you can enable looping.
Method 2: Creating a Single Video Playlist
Another way to achieve a repeating video is to create a YouTube playlist that contains just the single video you want looped. Then when you play the playlist, you can loop the entire playlist which will effectively loop your one video.
- Find the video you want to loop in the YouTube app.
- Now, tap the Save button below the video which looks like a bookmark icon.
- In the pop-up that appears, select the +New playlist option.
- Give your playlist a name, choose your desired privacy setting, and tap Create.
- Open the Library tab
- Go to the Playlists section.
- Open the new playlist you just created.
- Play your video.
- Now, tap the Loop button at the top of the playlist.
Note- This will continuously repeat the playlist, and since there is only one video it will loop that video. The benefit of this method is that you can add multiple videos to the playlist if desired and put them all on loop. You can also easily share the playlist URL with others.
Method 3: Using Third-Party Apps
If you want more advanced looping capabilities like being able to select a specific portion of the video to repeat or loop videos in the background, you’ll need to use a third-party app. There are several great options available on the Google Play Store.
1. Musepic
Among the most well-liked is the free application Musepic: Repeat YouTube Videos. You may do a straight search for YouTube videos within this app. Once you’ve chosen the one to loop you can crop the video to play back just the relevant parts. The option to store loops to playlists, change the playback speed, and have background music are more capabilities.
- Install the app from the Google Play Store and open it
- Use the search bar to find the YouTube video you want to loop
- Adjust the start and end points of the video to select the specific part you want repeated
- Tap the Save button to start the video playing on repeat.
Note- This app is not available in every region.
2- Looper
The app Looper! Loop Video Player is another choice that provides a simple way to continuously repeat videos saved on your Android device. While it doesn’t connect directly to YouTube you can use a YouTube video downloader app to first save the video to your phone, and then use this app to loop it.
