How to Get Community Tab on YouTube
The YouTube Community tab is a dedicated section on a channel where creators can post text updates, images, polls, GIFs, and even video previews.
It acts like a social media feed within the platform to give you the freedom to interact with your subscribers. It bridges the gap between creators and subscribers and builds your connection with them.
Note: Earlier creators required at least 500 subscribers to access the Community feature. But, YouTube has removed this requirement recently.
If you recently started your YouTube channel and want that Community tab to be right there for you, here are some ways.
Method 1: Via YouTube App (On Phone)
You need enable YouTube advanced features to get the Community tab. Also, you have to get one-time verification done for advanced features to be active for your channel.
Note: You can only enable Advanced features if Standard and Intermediate features are enabled for your channel.
- Open the YouTube app.
- Tap on the + button and select Create a post.
- Select your verification method from the given options and tap on Next.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and once it is successfully completed, you will get the Community tab.
Method 2: Via YouTube Creator Studio (On PC)
Follow the steps to enable Advanced features and get the Community tab on YouTube via the Creator Studio:
- Visit YouTube Studio on your PC and sign in to it.
- Click on Settings in the left menu.
- Go to the Channel tab and click on Feature eligibility.
- If Standard features and Intermediate features are enabled, click on the downward pointing arrow next to Advanced features.
- Click on ACCESS FEATURES.
- Select your preferred verification option and click on NEXT.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions. Once verified and Advanced features are enabled, you will get the Community tab.
However, remember that even after you have enabled Advanced features, it may take up to a week for the Community tab to appear on your channel.
What are the Different Ways to Enable Advanced Features to Get Community Tab on YouTube?
YouTube provides three levels of features to creators: Standard, Intermediate, and Advanced.
With Advanced features, users can create more live streams daily, upload more videos or Shorts daily, add external links to their video description, apply for monetization, and more.
Here are the three ways you can get the verification done for Advanced features to be enabled.
Method 1: Video Verification
If you need quick access to these features, video verification is the best way.
- Visit the Google Video Verification webpage on your phone.
- Tick the checkbox at the bottom and tap on I agree.
- Make sure you read the tips and tap on Next.
- Once your front camera opens up, tap on Start.
- Follow the on-screen prompts as shown. Once done, your video will be sent for review.
It may take 24 hours for the review and once approved, you will get an email.
Method 2: ID Verification
You can use any government-issued ID such as your driving license or passport for the verification process.
1. Visit the Identity Verification Page on your phone.
2. Verify your birthdate if asked and tap on Next.
3. Read the tips and tap on Next again.
4. Once the camera opens up, click a clear picture of your ID and tap on Submit.
Method 3: Channel History
If you have a new channel, it’s a longer process for you. But, if you already have been creating content on YouTube for quite a few months and already have a channel history, this method is for you to get the Community tab.
Your channel history includes your video uploads, live streams, engagement, when and how the channel was created, and more.
You’ll need a phone verification to enable Advanced features via channel history.
1. Visit the YouTube verification page on your phone.
2. Select how you want to get the 6-digit code. Once received, enter the 6-digit code to verify.
