Method 1: Disable Hardware Acceleration

1.Open Firefox then type “about:preferences” (without quotes) in the address bar and hit Enter.

2.Scroll down to Performance then uncheck “Use recommended performance settings

4.Close Firefox and reboot your PC.

Method 2: Start Firefox in Safe Mode

1.Open Mozilla Firefox then from the top right corner click on three lines.

2.From the menu click on Help and then click “Restart with Add-ons Disabled“.

3.On the pop up click on Restart.

4.Once the Firefox restart it will ask you to either Start in Safe Mode or Refresh Firefox.

1.Open Mozilla Firefox then from the top right corner click on three lines.

2.From the menu click on Help > About Firefox.

3.Firefox will automatically check for updates and will download updates if available.

Method 4: Temporarily Disable Antivirus and Firewall

1.Right-click on the Antivirus Program icon from the system tray and select Disable.

Note: Choose the smallest amount of time possible for example 15 minutes or 30 minutes.

3.Once done, again try to open Firefox and check if the error resolves or not.

8.Select Turn off Windows Firewall and restart your PC. Again try to open Firefox and see if you’re able to Fix Firefox Black Screen Issue.

Method 5: Disable Firefox Extensions

1.Open Firefox then type “about:addons” (without quotes) in the address bar and hit Enter.

2.Disable all Extensions by clicking Disable next to each extension.

3.Restart Firefox and then enable one extension at a time to find the culprit which is causing this whole issue.

Note: After enabling anyone extension you need to restart Firefox.

4.Remove those particular Extensions and reboot your PC.

    Unfortunately, you don’t allow download older versions and I am stuck with this.
    I’m working on a MacBook Pro OS Big Sur 11.0.1
