Google doesn’t have an official way of downgrading Chrome, but you can manually install an older version by uninstalling the current one. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open Settings and click on Apps from the left menu.
  2. Now locate Google Chrome and select and click on Uninstall.
  3. Then, click on Uninstall to confirm and select Yes.
  4. Press the Windows + R keys together to open the Run dialogue box.
  5. Type %localappdata% in the text box and click OK.
  6. Choose Google Chrome from the list and double-click to open it.
  7. Right-click on the Chrome folder and select Delete.
  8. Press Windows + R keys.
  9. Type %appdata% and click OK to open the AppData folder.
  10. Follow Steps 9 and 10 to delete the Chrome folder if there is any.
  11. Then, Restart your computer.
  12. Visit OldVersion. com or Slimjet.
  13. Select the desired version of the Chrome to download and install.
  14. Click on Download.
  15. View the downloaded file in the Folder.
  16. Click on the file and then click on Extract.
  17. Open the extracted file and double-click on chrome.exe to open it.

Now you can enjoy the older version of Chrome on your PC.

How to Disable Chrome Auto-Updates

You can also manually disable Chrome auto-updates from changing your experience. 

Method 1: Via Windows

Follow the steps below to disable Chrome auto-updates on Windows:

  1. Press the Windows+ R key simultaneously.
  2. Type services.msc in the text box and click OK.
  3. Choose Google Updater Service and Google Updater Internal Service.
  4. Right-click on it, select Properties, and change the Startup type to Disabled.
  5. Click on OK.

Click OK

Chrome will no longer automatically update its software.

Method 2: Via Mac

Similarly, follow the steps below to disable Chrome auto-updates on Mac:

  1. Locate the Finder application.
  2. Navigate to the Applications folder and then open the folder named Utilities.
  3. Open Terminal.
  4. Input the following command defaults write com.google.Keystone.Agent checkInterval 0 to disable updates.

Open Terminal

This way you will only be manually able to update Chrome.
