How to Clear Chat in Discord

Method 1: Via Manually Deleting Messages
If you wish to manually select and delete all messages in Discord, follow the steps mentioned below to do the same:
1. Open Discord and select the server of your choice.
2. Hover over the message you wish to delete and click on the three dots at the right corner.
3. Select Delete Message.
Note: You can also press the Shift key over the message to get the Delete option.
Method 2: Via Deleting Channel
You can also choose to delete any channel of your choice. However, keep in mind, that you have to be an owner of the channel or have administrative privileges to do so.
1. Open the server of your choice and right-click over your preferred channel from the left menu.
2. Now, select Delete Channel.
By following this method, you will be able to clear out any old chat from channels.
Method 3: Via Mee6 Bot
Another way to automatically clear long chat threads without having to manually delete them is by installing the MEE6 bot on Discord.
1. Visit the official website of the MEE6 bot and click on Add to Discord.
2. Enter your Discord login credentials and select Authorize.
3. Now, select a server you wish to add the MEE6 bot in and click on Setup.
4. Turn the toggle on for Moderator and select Yes to confirm your action.
5. Go to your selected Discord server and right-click over it.
6. Select Server Settings and click on Roles.
7. Drag the MEE6 bot and place it at the top role.
8. Click on Save Changes.
9. Go back to your server, type in !clear followed by the number of messages you wish to delete, and hit Enter.
Now the MEE6 bot will start deleting the entered number of messages you have asked to clear out.
Method 4: Via CommandCleaup Bot
Lastly, you can also use the command cleanup bot designed specifically to delete chats on Discord.
1. Visit the official page of TopGG.
2. Type in Command Cleanup in the search bar and select the first result.
3. Click on Invite.
4. Click on ADD TO SERVER and select your preferred server.
5. Then, click on Continue followed by Authorize to confirm your action.
6. Now, go to your Discord server connected with the bot and type in .cleanupALL or .cleanup followed by a number of your choice if you wish to delete only some messages.
7. Hit Enter.
You will see all your selected messages automatically getting cleared out.
Can I Delete All Messages at Once from Discord?
Currently, Discord does not offer an in-built feature to select all messages at once if you wish to clear your chats. You can choose any of the methods provided above from manually deleting chats to clearing them all at once.
