WiFi doesn’t have a valid IP configuration error? 10 Ways to Fix it!

Method 1: Flush DNS and Reset TCP/IP

1. Right-click on Windows Button and select “Command Prompt(Admin).

2. Now type the following command and press Enter after each one:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

3. Again, open Admin Command Prompt and type the following and hit enter after each one:

ipconfig /flushdns
nbtstat –r
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

Method 2: Disable and Enable your NIC (Network Interface Card)

1. Press Windows key + R, then type ncpa.cpl and hit enter.

Method 3: Uninstall Wireless Network Adapter Drivers

1. Press Windows Key + R then type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter to open Device Manager.

3. Make sure you note down the adapter name just in case something goes wrong.

4. Right-click on your network adapter and uninstall it.

5. If ask for confirmation, select Yes.

6. Restart your PC and try to reconnect to your network.

7. If you’re not able to connect to your network, then it means the driver software isn’t automatically installed.

8. Now you need to visit your manufacturer’s website and download the driver from there.

Method 4: Update Network Adapter Driver

1. Press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc in Run dialogue box to open device manager.

4. Now Windows will automatically search for the Network driver update, and if a new update is found, it will automatically download and install it.

5. Once finished, close everything and reboot your PC.

6. If you’re still facing the WiFi Connected but no Internet Access issue, then right-click on your WiFi and select Update driver in Device Manager.

8. Now select “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.

9. Try to update drivers from the listed versions (make sure to checkmark compatible hardware).

10. If the above didn’t work then go to the manufacturer’s website to update drivers.

11. Download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website, then restart your PC.

Method 5: Change Network Adapter Settings

1. Press Windows key + R, then type ncpa.cpl and hit enter.

Obtain an IP address automatically 
Obtain DNS server address automatically.

5. Click Ok and exit WiFi properties.

6. Reboot to apply changes.

Method 6: Disable IPv6

1. Right-click on the WiFi icon on the system tray and then click on “Open Network and Sharing Center.

2. Now click on your current connection to open Settings.

Note: If you can’t connect to your network, then use an Ethernet cable to connect and then follow this step.

3. Click the Properties button in the window that just open.

5. Click OK, then click Close. Reboot your PC to save changes.

Method 7: Use Google DNS

1. Go to your Wi-Fi properties.

2. Now select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

3. Check the box saying “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter the following:

Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

Method 8: Enable Wireless Network Related Services

1. Press Windows Key + R then type services.msc and hit Enter.

Network Connection Broker
Network Connections
Network Connectivity Assistant
Network List Service
Network Location Awareness
Network Setup Service

WLAN AutoConfig

Method 9: Set the channel width to Auto

1. Press Windows Key + R then type ncpa.cpl and hit Enter to open Network Connections.

2. Now right-click on your current WiFi connection and select Properties.

3. Click the Configure button in the Wi-Fi properties window.

6. Close everything and reboot your PC to save changes.
