Method 1: Remove and Re-add Language through the App
Suppose you started learning French at some point in time but now you want to start fresh. Removing that specific language from your profile will do the job. If you delete the language, your overall progress will be gone, so make sure you are ready to lose all your last year’s progress.
- Open the Duolingo app and tap on the profile or avatar icon below.
- Go to Settings and tap on Manage course
- Select the language you want to remove and tap on the REMOVE option.
The selected language will be removed from your course. - Go to the home and tap on the Flag icon at the top of the screen.
- Tap on the + course icon to add the language you want to restart.
Method 2: Reset Language Through Browser
If you don’t have the Duolingo application on your mobile, you can do it from the website as well. Use your same email address or mobile number to log in through the Duolingo website. After tapping on reset, it will ask for your approval. Follow the steps:
- Visit the Duolingo website
- Tap on Login and then on your Profile icon below
- Tap on the Setting icon on the top of your right-hand side
- Go to Courses and select the language you want to remove
- Tap on RESET.
