Make sure to create a restore point just in case something goes wrong.

1. Open Word or Press Windows Key + R then type winword and hit Enter to open Microsoft Word.

2. Next, to change the autosave time interval in word click Office icon on the top or in the latest word click File.

3. Click Word Options and switch to the Save tab in the left-hand side menu.

4. In the Save documents section, make sure the “Save AutoRecover information every” checkbox is checked and adjust the time according to your preferences.

6. If you don’t want Word to automatically save your documents, simply go back to the Save Documents option and uncheck “Save AutoRecover information every” checkbox.
