No internet? Here’s how to use Google Maps offline

Google Maps is probably one of the greatest gifts to mankind from Google. It is the most popular and widely used navigation service in the world. This generation depends on Google Maps more than anything else when it comes to navigation. It is an essential service app that allows people to find addresses, businesses, hiking routes, review traffic situations, etc. Google Maps is like an indispensable guide, especially when we are in an unknown area.

However, sometimes internet connectivity is not available in certain remote areas. Without the internet, Google Maps will not be able to download the local maps for the region, and it won’t be possible to find our way. Thankfully, Google Maps has a solution for that as well in the form of Offline Maps. You can download the map for a particular area, town, or city beforehand and save it as an Offline map. Later, when you do not have internet access, this pre-downloaded map will help you navigate. The functionalities are somewhat limited, but the important basic features will be active. In this article, we will discuss this in detail and teach you how to use Google Maps when there is no internet connection.

As mentioned earlier, Google Maps allows you to download the map for an area before-hand and then make it available offline. Later, when you do not have internet access, you can go to the list of downloaded maps and use them for navigation. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the offline map is only usable till 45 days after the download. After that, you need to update the plan, or it will get deleted.
