WhatsApp is releasing a new text editor feature that is sure to make messaging even easier and more convenient. This new feature will allow users to edit their messages directly within the app instead of having to delete and rewrite them. With this new feature, Android users will be able to select and edit any portion of their messages, add new text or emojis, and even change the formatting. This will make it much easier to correct typos, clarify messages, or simply improve the overall readability of your conversations. You can even edit images, videos, and GIFs using this new tool.

WhatsApp is constantly releasing new features such as adding 15 new durations for disappearing messages or the audio chat features. However, this feature is currently under development.

“The feature is also in development on WhatsApp beta for iOS but, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.7.17 update from the Play Store, we can finally announce that some beta testers may be able to get this feature:”, says WABetaInfo.

You can check if this feature is already enabled in your WhatsApp account by opening the text editor option, but if it is not available yet, don’t sweat it; it will soon be available globally. With the new tool, you get the ability to:

  • Easily switch between different fonts by tapping one of the available font options above the keyboard. Although it was already available, now you will be able to quickly select the font you want.
  • You can change the text background color, making it easier to differentiate important text from the rest.
  • Text alignment will now be changed to left, center, or right, giving the users more control over formatting text within images, videos, and GIFs.
  • Some new fonts have been released to beta testers such as Damion, Exo 2, Calistoga, Courier Prime, and Morning Breeze.

The new text editor feature is expected to be rolled out to all Android users in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for it in your app updates. We’ll keep you posted on any further developments on our page so, stay tuned.
