SoundCloud has decided to test its new discovery feature with a few users. The selected users from both iOS and Android will see a new Discovery page, along with a Following page, under the Feed tab. Before this new feature, it would only show new tracks from artists that you were following.

According to SoundCloud, the new Discover page will show songs based on the user’s listening history and musical taste. It will also show a line in the caption of recommended videos captions like “Because you follow A” or “Because you liked B”. On the discovery page, you will see 30-second previews which either the Artists can select on their own or can rely on Musiio’s AI tech. Musiio is a tech startup that was acquired by SoundCloud last year.

With the new feature, there is a lot more you can do. If you like the track, you can like it and add it to Liked tracks. If you want to listen to the full version, you have to tap on the play button and it will play the track. The new layout also makes it a lot easier to comment on the track.
