Snapchat AI Chatbot Now Available Free for Every User

Get ready to chat like never before! Snapchat has just made its AI chatbot, My AI, available to everyone for free. Say goodbye to boring conversations and hello to personalized and engaging experiences on the popular social media platform. This announcement was made at the Snap Partner Summit. Earlier the feature was only available to paid subscribers but is now open to everyone.

Snapchat AI Chatbot Now Available Free for Every User

Snapchat had originally planned to incorporate AI technology into its app to enhance user engagement and meet the increasing demand for ChatGPT-like experiences. By leveraging the Snap Map data, the AI-powered feature can offer personalized recommendations for restaurants and other activities, as well as suggest relevant lenses to users. Moreover, the AI assistant comes with thousands of unique Bitmoji variations that can be customized by the user, such as giving it a name and engaging in chat conversations.

Snapchat in its blog post says. “It’s easy to bring My AI into any of your conversations with friends. Simply @ mention My AI and ask a question on behalf of the group. It will be clear when an AI has entered the chat and includes a sparkle next to its name.” Moreover, users will be able to send their visual snap pictures to the chatbot and get a reply for the same in the chat.

The company also claimed that “99.5% percent of My AI responses conform to our community guidelines, and since launch, we’ve worked to improve” When initially launched in March, my AI received criticism for being unsuitable for Snapchat’s young user base. During tests conducted by the Washington Post, the AI was found to engage in inappropriate conversations with users, raising concerns about the safety of children on the platform. In response, Snapchat took measures to address these concerns and reassure parents and guardians about the safety of their children on the app.

Therefore, Snapchat has made some changes to My AI to conform to community guidelines including the addition of a new age signal with the user age data. This will help My AI to consider Snapchatter’s age before giving any responses. Also, Snapchat is getting ready to integrate My AI with their Family Center, which is an in-app parental tool. This integration will enable caregivers to monitor their teenagers’ communication with My AI, including the frequency of such interactions.
