On 14 March 2023, Sling TV announced that they will be adding three new features to their platforms. The news comes just at the right time for NCAA March Madness. The new features will significantly enhance the viewing experience for all basketball fans in the United States. The fans seem delighted when news broke out that Sling TV launches new features just in time for NCAA March Madness.

The streaming service announced the news from its official blog and also tweeted captioning the post “Let’s dance. Get ready for #MarchMadness.” The service has introduced three new features to its platforms namely Enhanced Sports Scores, Picture-in-Picture on Browser, and New iOS Widget.

Details about the new features were also shared in the official Sling blog, which seem to provide a lot more exciting options for viewers.

  • Enhanced Sports Scores: Sling TV has come up with an enhanced version of the score display on their app. The new upgrade to the feature will allow users to keep a track of the most competitive games streaming at the moment. The home page of Sling TV will have a dedicated row displaying live scores. Users will be able to jump right at their favorite game at the moment. If a user like to switch a game, they just need to highlight the score and game they wish to see and click the Select button.
  • Picture-in-Picture on Browser: This the latest feature introduced by Sling TV and is build keeping office goers in mind. The idea is to let users be productive at their respective job and still let them enjoy their favorite sports. A user who watches Sling TV on their desktop browser will be able to use the Side View feature, this feature will pop out a Picture-in-Picture window, which allows users to continue playing the sports stream even when they change the window or application.
  • New iOS Widget: Introduced specifically for iPhone users, the new Widget will allow users to get sports updates without having to leave their iPhone home screen.

An iPhone user can access the new Sling TV iOS widget by following these simple steps.

1. Navigate to the Widget Panel from the home screen and tap on Edit and then +.

2. Here, in the search bar, type Sling and select Sling TV app.

3. From the given 5 different style options, select one of the following.

  • 2 Row
  • 4 Row.

4. Finally, tap Add Widget button.

As Sling TV launches new features just in time for NCAA March Madness, the fans will be able to watch matches throughout the basketball season with an enhanced experience. However, fans of men’s basketball will be able to access TBS, TNT, and TruTV only with Sling Blue Plan. Therefore, users will have to subscribe to a different streaming service to watch the semi-finals and championship matches as they will be telecasted on CBS. Similarly, the women’s tournament will be available with the Sling Orange plan.
