The artificial intelligence giant OpenAI launches ChatGPT Plus, a premium subscription plan for its most talked about ChatGPT, the text-generating AI-based chatbot software in the U.S., starting at $20 per month. The paid subscription aims to cater to its users with improved access to the app during peak times and reduce crashes, comparatively faster response times, and priority gateway to new and enhanced features, although we are yet to get confirmation about the detailed changes.
The AI research company also confirmed in a tweet that the free service that was earlier offered to its customers will not be put on a halt. But users who want to experience a premium service with additional features can subscribe to the pilot plan. Moreover, OpenAI also stated that presently they are inviting customers from the U.S. that have already joined its waitlist. However, they are looking forward to expand the premium tier to more countries as well in the upcoming time.

OpenAI in their blog stated, “We launched ChatGPT as a research preview so we could learn more about the system’s strengths and weaknesses and gather user feedback to help us improve upon its limitations. Since then, millions of people have given us feedback, we’ve made several important updates and we’ve seen users find value across a range of professional use-cases, including drafting and editing content, brainstorming ideas, programming help, and learning new topics. We plan to refine and expand this offering based on your feedback and needs.”
Chat GPT plus was previewed already in January when the company claimed its intentions to monetize its services to make sure its free services sustain in the long run. As noted now, the company seems to be planning to expand its services with the introduction of more options targeting more affordable plans, business plans, and data packs as well to ensure that ChatGPT reaches a wide customer base.
