In July 2022, The UK-based brand, Nothing Phone 1 was introduced in the UK, Europe, and Asia. The launch strategy did not cover the US and Canadian markets. However, the company recently revealed its ambitions to release the Nothing Phone 2, successor to Nothing Phone 1 in the US by the end of 2023. According to Pei, the US market would receive top attention for the next smartphone from the UK-based Company. The technology is expected to be the company’s primary emphasis on Nothing Phone 2, which will likely be a more expensive handset than the Phone 1. Some of the phone’s most important details, like its expected release date and model number, have been reported recently along with the news of Nothing Phone (2) to have a US release in 2023.
Nothing Phone 2 with model number A065 is said to be more expensive than Phone 1. A flagship-grade experience will be provided by this next launch from Nothing. The forthcoming device will place a lot of emphasis on the software it uses. Although Nothing OS current iteration was outsourced, the forthcoming OS for Phone 2 will be produced internally. The business is aiming to create more retail locations in addition to its US market growth. They are rumored to be thinking about opening a store in the US.

Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, reported in an interview, “We decided to make the US our No. 1 priority in terms of markets”. He also added, “We couldn’t do it earlier because we were only in our second year and our hands were tied building the team as we were building the products. Now as we’re on a more solid footing, we can take a step forward.”
Recently, the company released some of the expected specifications and features of the upcoming launch. Some of these are:
- Memory: 12GB and virtual RAM
- Display: AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate
- Storage: 256GB internal
- Battery: 5000 mAh
According to Pei, the firm has 400 employees as opposed to 200 in 2021, which increases its capacity to enter the US market and makes it possible for Nothing Phone 2 US release expected in 2023. To work on carrier accreditation, quality control, marketing, retail logistics, etc., they have significantly more resources than before. Although the Nothing Phone 1 wasn’t released in the US, the business just launched a beta program for customers in the US that enables them to test out the device there. The program costs around $299 to join, in which the participants get a black Nothing Phone 1 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
