Unmatched Memory Capacity and Bandwidth

One of the key highlights of the MI300X is its massive memory capacity. With 192 GB of memory, it outshines its competitors, offering 2.4 times more memory density than Nvidia’s H100 GPU and 1.6 times more memory bandwidth. This significant increase in memory allows for running larger language models entirely in memory, eliminating the need to constantly move data back and forth from external memory.

During the unveiling, AMD CEO Lisa Su showcased the MI300X’s capabilities by using the open-source Falcon-40B language model to generate a poem about San Francisco. This demonstration highlighted the chip’s ability to handle models with up to 80 billion parameters directly in memory, further showcasing its immense power and potential. MI300X provides a great option in a market saturated by NVIDIA’s Grace Hopper Superchips.
