
Last month Meta announced the verified label that was just few days after rolled out in Australia and New Zealand. And now Meta Verified is rolling out to users in the US today which was announced by Mark Zuckerberg through his Instagram Meta Channel.
A verified badge has been one of the top requests from creators all around the world. This is because what a verified badge brings with it which includes broader access to verification and account support.

Meta Verified will also provide a user with increased visibility and reach with prominence in some areas of the platform– like search, comments, and recommendations. On top of all this proactive account monitoring for impersonators who might target people with expanding online audiences will increase protection from impersonation.
After the announcement the information on Meta Verified page also updated saying, “It is currently available in the United States, Australia and New Zealand for people 18 years or older and is not yet available in all places or for businesses.” The prices for Meta Verified is still the same with, “Meta Verified subscription for $14.99 USD/month (iOS/Android) or $11.99 USD/month on the web (Facebook only).”
Meta Verified guidelines state that only a user’s real name will be supported on your profile at this time for Meta Verified. Once your profile has been verified, you cannot modify the profile name, username, date of birth, or photo without reapplying for Meta Verified membership and verifications. Also businesses are still not eligible to apply for Meta Verified.

There are also some requirements for Meta Verified including a prior posting history and to be atleast 18 years of age. Also, an applicant is required to submit a government ID that matches name and image with your Instagram or Facebook profile.
