What is RTT on My Android Phone?

RTT (Real Time Text) on your Android phone is a feature that allows users to send text messages in real-time during phone calls. This means that instead of waiting for the person on the other end of the line to finish speaking before sending a text message, you can send messages as you speak and see them appear in real-time on the other person’s phone.

It can be useful in situations where it may be difficult to hear the other person on the phone or where a person with hearing loss may benefit from visual communication. To use this feature on your Android phone, you need to have a carrier that supports the feature, and both parties need to have RTT-capable devices.

  1. It has the same drawback as every other source I’ve consulted re: this issue:
it directs the user to the same settings menu (no matter how one gets there), all options of which are grayed out on my phone (Samsung A03s) except “RTT call button,” which, in turn, only allow you the “Always Visible” or “Visible During Calls” options. Now, RTT was evidently activated recently during an incoming call with what I’m treating as malicious intent; so I’m thinking it’s as simple as me not having the required permissions to completely access & handle it, as it also does not appear in the list of apps under “Settings / Apps,” where I would ordinarily seek to use “Force Stop” / “Disable” / “Uninstall.” Please Advise.
