It is great news to share that the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.70 update, this feature is under development on iOS devices also. As according to a recent claim from WABetaInfo, “WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 23.4.0.70. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.23.4.70 and the TestFlight build is 23.4.0 (447729941).”
“Unfortunately, after investigating the newest updates, we discovered that there is now a different configuration for this feature that will limit the original quality to 90%, as mentioned in this tweet. This option will still preserve image dimensions, but light compression is still applied to the image.”, says WABetaInfo. This means that users do have the ability to send HD-quality images in chat but it will be only 90%.
There is a correction for the news. It seems WhatsApp recently changed some configuration, and the quality will be set to "90%" when sharing images by using the "HD" option.
