Google had previously announced that it was bringing new generative AI capabilities to its Google Workspace. The new features would let users:

  • draft, reply, summarize, and prioritize your Gmail
  • brainstorm, proofread, write, and rewrite in Docs
  • bring your creative vision to life with auto-generated images, audio, and video in Slides
  • go from raw data to insights and analysis via auto-completion, formula generation, and contextual categorization in Sheets
  • generate new backgrounds and capture notes in Meet
  • enable workflows for getting things done in Chat

As reported by 9to5Google, these features will now be available to a select group of public testers which consists of consumers, enterprises, and education users (who are over 18) in United States.

Google previously made its generative AI, Bard available through early access for users in US and UK. But to get access to Bard you had to join a waitlist, or you had to be a Pixel Superfan and be one of the most loyal members of Google community. But to get access of generative AI in Google Workspace there is no waitlist, neither do you have to be a Superfan, the testers were invited by Google and they must sign up and opt in. They also have the ability to leave the program at any moment.

Google will expand it generative AI abilities to all the users over time, until then the users have to wait. Stay tuned with TechCult to stay in touch with everything happening with Google and everything tech.
