Console Listing of Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania appears online which is giving hints that the DLC may enter a new platform. On 6th March, Castlevania and Dead Cells crossover expansion was released but the PlayStation 5 version of the DLC was not present in the initial lineup. So there are chances that Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania might enter PlayStation 5 in near future.
Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania has features like enemies, characters, weapons, and items from the iconic Castlevania franchise of Konami since its fourth and major expansion for roguelike Metroidvania. This major expansion was released in 2018.
Since its release, the DLC received critical acclaim and it was also regarded as a master class in how to pull off a crossover in the right way. Fatal Falls, The Bad Seed, and The Queen and the Sea were the previous three expansions that were also praised a lot.
As Console Listing of Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania appears online, an ESRB rating also appeared online for Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. The rating of T for Teen appeared for PlayStation 5 which hinted to the fans about the expansion related to the PlayStation 5 version. This expansion is still in the process of making and has been rumored to be the final expansion for Dead Cells.
For the content rating, ESRB cites “Blood and Gore, Language, Violence” for the DLC. In the rating summary, it is cited that “Players use punches, kicks, and gadgets (eg., flame-thrower traps, grenades, arrow turrets) to kill enemies.” Further, the summary states that “Enemies emit large splatters of Blood when injured/killed and sometimes break apart into bloody pieces; blood also stains the floors and walls of some areas.”
The players take the role of Richter Belmont and other Castlevania characters in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania which includes the role of Soma Cruz and Maria Renard. This will help in storming Dracula’s Castle again. Initially, the castle is hidden and the players have to die a few times for finding it. The players will be discovering new content in the form of new biomes that will include Dracula’s castle, Master’s Keep, Castle Outskirts, and Defiled Necropolis. They will also come across new outfits and items once the DLC is accessed.
The classic Castlevania monsters like Werewolf, Axe Armor, Bone Pillar, Vampire Bat, Harpy, the bosses Death and Dracula, and also Medusa will make an appearance in Return to Castlevania.
There are 13 new achievements added to the DLC and also 14 new weapons from the series have been included. The weapons will include Alucard’s Sword, Holy Cross, Medusa’s Head, Holy Water Vampire Killer whip, and of course the Throwing Axe. Claiming these weapons won’t be easy for the players because the weapon blueprints are the rare drops of the enemy.
The fans of Castlevania will be pleased if this high-quality and highly praised content comes to Dead Cells on their favorite PlayStation 5 platform. Whether the extra Castlevania goodies will be there or not is still a question. Although nothing has been announced about Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania on PS5 but the possibility is certainly exciting for the fans.
