In a blog post shared by a Google page, the company announced that Chrome on iOS is set to get built-in Lens support. The tech giant is also bringing new features to the browser including new Maps and Calendar integrations.

Surf the Internet with Camera
Now, you will not only be able to access Lens in Chrome on iOS by long-pressing an image during browsing, but you will also have the capability to utilize your camera for searching with recently taken pictures or images stored in your camera roll. Google says the new features will be integrated into Chrome for iOS in the coming months.

Find an Address on Google Maps
Additionally, the company also informed us that there won’t be a need to switch between apps when you come across an address in Chrome on iOS and want to look it up on a map. According to the company, when you press and hold on an address in Chrome, you will now have the option to view it directly on a compact Google Maps interface which will be integrated within Chrome.

Create Calendar Events with Ease
Users will now e able to create Google Calendar events within Chrome, this will eliminate the need to switch applications or manually copy information. By simply pressing and holding on to a date, you will be able to add it to your Google Calendar. Chrome will automatically generate the event and add crucial details such as time, location, and description.

Translate Web Pages
Google also introduced a new feature that allows users to translate sections of a web page. Users can now translate a paragraph or sentence by highlighting the desired text and selecting Google Translate.

In the announcement post the company stated, “As our AI models improve, Chrome has gotten better at detecting a webpage’s language and suggesting translations.” Further highlighting the benefits of new features, the blog stated, “Let’s say you’re planning to visit a museum in Italy, but the site’s in Italian and you don’t speak the language. Chrome will automatically offer to translate the museum’s website into your preferred language.”
Google has continuously taken steps to better its services for iOS devices to compete with Apple’s Safari and other dedicated services, now that Chrome is to get built-in Lens support, it will make it easier for users to explore Google Images on their iOS devices.
