Activision has been planning the next Call of Duty annual premium release 2023. This is pointing toward the fact that Call of Duty is ending its two-year life cycle and the players can expect a new entry. Modern Warfare 2 has become the fastest game in the Call of Duty franchise to cross the $1 billion sold mark and has also seen great success on PC as well. The game has also made franchise records for engagement.
The Call of Duty franchise is going for a new release in 2023. Well, this is not new to most people because the franchise has launched a new game every year since 2005 when Call of Duty 2 was released. According to sources Modern Warfare 2 will have a two-year life cycle and the fans are believing that the next Call of Duty will arrive in 2024 only. A few months back Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released as a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019. So now Call of Duty Annual Premium Release 2023 will arrive anytime soon this year.
In 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released and Modern Warfare 2 was released in 2011. Activision rebooted its timeline officially at that time. Modern Warfare has been a commercial success and it also achieved some prestigious awards in comparison to Call of Duty: Vanguard which received only a few nominations.
Call of Duty is the most popular First-person shooting game and players prefer yearly releases. In every new release Call of Duty offers new mechanics and maps to the players. According to reports an average US gamer spends around $24 a month on games. The Call of Duty has a yearly entry fee of $70 that doesn’t include the battle pass which costs an additional $10.
A lot of new games are coming out and it is not surprising that the Call of Duty lovers may feel disappointed that almost a quarter of the annual spending goes towards being updated and competitive in the gaming environment.
Jason Schreier of Bloomberg tweeted that the game is Sledgehammer and a well-developed premium expansion of Modern Warfare 2 is on the cards. He also added that for 2024 Treyarch is working on a fully new game.
